Questions and Answers

1. When does the orchard open for the season?

If possible we like to open on the Friday before the long weekend in September. The odd year we are able to open before that date. Near the end of August we start sampling the apples every day or so and when they are ripe or within a couple of days of being ripe we set our opening date. Once opening date is determined we send out an email to those customers that have asked for email notification. The emails usually go out about 3 days before we open.

2. What type of apples do you have?

The apples were specifically bred for fresh eating similar to the apples you buy at the store. The names will not be familiar as the varieties are ones that survive and thrive on the prairies. Like most apples they can also be used for baking.

3. Are the trees short enough for kids to pick?

Yes, the trees have been pruned specically for picking from the ground. We do not use ladders and kids do fine at the orchard.

4. What are your hours?

If there are apples ripe we are open on Saturdays and Sundays, typically 10am to 4:30pm. We are sometimes open Wednesday or Thursday in the afternoon, the times will be posted on the Website.

5. Can I bring my dog?

It is ok to bring your dog, please keep the dog on a leash inside the orchard fence. Please bring a doggie bag for use if necessary. A bin for doggie bags is located by the outhouse. You can run your dog without a leash in the field around the orchard.

6. Can my group come out and pick apples during the week?

It is usually difficult to schedule a group time as it is difficult to predict the availability of apples. The popularity of the orchard is such that ripe apples tend to go quick. If you want to discuss a visit for your group, please email frank@attracted2apples.com.
